The Hackham West Community Centre has a range of community development resources available. These include DVDs and tours. Please contact the Centre for further details or to arrange your DVD copies (fee applies).

SUPERBIA

This DVD was produced in 1999 by the Centre. Superbia is a modern musical written and performed by local residents. I the 1980's the Adelaide print media ran a number of negative stories on the suburb of Hackham West. Superbia is a wonderful example of the use of Narrative Therapy in community work. The DVD is the recording of a performance of Superbia at Theatre 62. The DVD runs for 60 minutes. Themes include: strengths perspective community work, the role of the media, community development and volunteering. A great resource for schools, community groups or higher education classes. Available for $10.00AUD and comes with a discussion guide and copy of the script.

WE ARE THE BEST

This DVD was produced in 2005 and highlights the children's and youth programs delivered by the Centre. We Are The Best is a stunning example of strengths perspective community work. Available for $10.00AUD.

NOTHING SHORT OF A MIRACLE

Shows all the programs that are run through our Centre. Meet the people and hear their stories. You will see that what we achieve through the Hackham West Community Centre is indeed “Nothing short of a Miracle”.

Community Development Study Tours of Hackham West Community Centre are available for C.D. workers, Social or Community Work students or related disciplines. The Centre can accommodate tours by individuals or small groups. Tours are conducted by the Team Leader - Community Development at Hackham West Community Centre. Tours provide an opportunity for other practitioner, or students in the field, to learn how Hackham West Community Centre works. Lunch is available as part of the site tours at the Centre at the Centre's Everyday Cafe.
